Hello my friends!
Summer has come and past and what an incredibly busy and fun summer it has been. Despicable Me 2 and Smurfs 2 have been released, and I'm overjoyed at all the support they have received from you all over the world.
I want to thank all of you for all the e-mails of support and all the kind words received. Please know that when I'm here writing music by myself, I know I'm not alone. All the best!
It has been another fantastic year full of music making and scoring projects which have been especially varied!
Towards the end of 2011 I began collaborating with Melody Gardot as producer and co-writer on her Album 'The Absence'. Melody is a super talented jazz singer/ songwriter. The record was released in May this year by Verve Records, and I am thrilled it has been acclaimed by critics worldwide. If you have a chance please check out some of the tracks on iTunes!
Early in 2012 I was delighted to return to the Beverly Hills Chihuhua family, scoring the 3rd movie "Viva La Fiesta." I had a lot of fun working with Illumination Entertainment on the score for Despicable Me "The Ride", which opened at Universal Studios, Orlando in June this summer and I really enjoyed the chance to embrace this exciting simulator medium in 7.1 surround sound!!
I will be adding new tracks from these more recent projects to the Film music section, and I particularly wanted to share the video documentary I scored: 'Awa', about an Amazonian tribe, who are greatly threatened by logging and deforestation. You can view the video below.
I hope to keep my updates more frequent in this approaching 2013!
All the best!
A year has come and gone and I have been writing more and more music. After finishing the score for Despicable Me, I worked on "A Little Bit of Heaven" a romantic comedy based in New Orleans, starring Kate Hudson and Gael Garcia and with great songs from Aaron Neville. I had fun writing the score for "From Prada to Nada", and collaborated on "Rango" and "Unstoppable".
I recently wrote the score for "The Smurfs", a feature film that brings back to life our blue friends, that will come out on July 29th. Directed by Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua). Recorded at the Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage at Sony, and Newman Scoring Stage at Fox by Frank Wolf, with Nick Glennie-Smith conducting, and many great solo musicians, including Alex Acuña (Percussion), Ken Munday (Bassoon), Chris Bleth (Ethnic Woodwinds), Doug Tornquist (Tuba) and Doug Webb (Woodwinds). I'm also happy to announce that we will be releasing The Smurfs soundtrack.
I will be adding more music and pictures so please check the Film Music and Picture section for updates.
All the best,
It’s already April and, as always, I continue to stay busy writing music. I’m starting to work on the music for “Despicable Me" an Illumination Entertainment film starring Steve Carell, Jason Segal & Kristen Wiig. I will be collaborating with producer Pharell Williams in this exciting film.
I also completed the score to Universal’s “ The Little Engine “, and working on this film was a very fun process for me.
Please continue to check in for more updates of my music and film work.
All the best,
Wow 2010 has come around fast and I continue to be busy writing a lot of Music. I ended 2009 by finishing the music for “Its Complicated“ directed by Nancy Meyers (Something's Gotta Give), which will be released on DVD and Blue Ray very soon. The score can be found on itunes via Back Lot Music.
In another film ending 2009 “ Merry Madagascar " marked the return of the animation characters in Madagascar, and I had a wonderful time creating the score of such a great film. I also wrote some additional music for the score of “ The Taking of Pelham 123 “ starring John Travolta and Denzel Washington.
Since then I also completed the score to "The Canyon”, a thriller film written by Steve Allrich and directed by Richard Harrah.
I’m now currently working on the score for “ The Little Engine “ from Universal Pictures.
Check in for updates, as I will be adding some tracks from these scores soon.
All the best,
The score for Curious George 2 is ready and the DVD will be coming out later this year.
Check out the Film Music Section; I posted some cues and songs from Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Running the Sahara and also the original version of "Dueling Guitars" as I originally wrote it.
Finally, I wanted to thank you for your emails and all of your support!
All the Best!!!
It has been a long time, but it is good to say that I have been busy writing a lot of music!
This past August, I finished working on the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua, directed by Raja Gosnell, that is now playing in theaters as the #1 movie for two weeks in a row! This was a great project to work on, and it brought lots of talented musicians together: Franc Marroco, Alex Acuña, Michael Fisher, Brad Dutz, Martin Tillman, Jose Hernandez’s Mariachi Sol de Mexico, only to name a few. The score was conducted by Nick Glennie-Smith, and recorded and mixed by Alan Meyerson. Check the Film Music Page, I will be posting some cues, as well as some videos and pictures from the scoring sessions.
Currently, I am working on the movie Curious George 2: Monkey on the Run, directed by Norton Virgien.
All the best!

I'm just finishing up the score for a romantic drama/comedy called Suburban Girl, starring Sarah Michelle Geller and Alec Baldwin.

All the best!!!!!!
Alma Muda (English)
Open the door of your dark cell
And let me silence your screams with kisses
Open the door of your prison of pain
And cover yourself in my arms, my love
Open the door, I beg you
Open the door to your silent soul
Happy New Year!!!
